Contestants descended on the dome Wednesday from all points, as can be seen by the variety of license plates in the parking lot.
The Day 1 tradition of starting out with glider events holds true here in Arizona. All through the building, you could hear the “buzz” of high-speed gliders ballistically shooting at the ceiling and the occasional crunch as something went terribly wrong.

Once you are either off the airplane in Albuquerque or exit Interstate 25, there are only two ways to drive get to Springerville, Arizona—home of the Springerdome, affectionately called “The Enormodome,” and the site of this year’s Indoor Nats. Either route takes you more than 100 miles into the desert, heading west.

Thursday was the final day of the 2018 RC Helicopter Nats, and today is the last day of the Control Line (CL) Racing and Speed Nats. Today's contests include the Muncie 500 (unofficial event), Big Block, and Jet.

On the third day of the RC Helicopter and Control Line Racing and Speed Nats, the rain finally ended and the sun came out. This allowed the RC Scale Helicopter Nats contest to finish and the winners were named. The other RC Helicopter classes continue today.

Tuesday's Nats can be described in one word: wet! Rain persisted throughout the day, again causing delays in Control Line (CL) Racing, CL Speed, and RC Helicopter.

Monday's rain delayed and shortened some of the contests at the 2018 Outdoor Nats. The Control Line Racing and Speed contests were held in between rain showers, while part of the RC Helicopter competition was delayed until the sky cleared in the evening.
