Today marks the start of the final week of the 2018 Outdoor Nats. One competition ended on Saturday, and the final three events—RC Helicopter, Control Line (CL) Speed, and CL Racing—start today.

The 2018 Outdoor Free Flight Nats wrapped up at the International Aeromodeling Center on Friday. Today is the last day of the RC Soaring Nats.
A threat of afternoon thunderstorms on Thursday did not stop the Free Flight pilots from competing in the 2018 Outdoor Nats. At RC Soaring, the winner of Unlimited was announced.
Participation was down in some Outdoor Free Flight Nats events on Tuesday, but it picked back up on Wednesday. Also on Wednesday, the first day of Unlimited Thermal Duration Soaring took place.
Tuesday at the Soaring flightline, the RES (rudder, elevator, spoiler), Nostalgia, and Two-Meter contests wrapped up, while several more events took place at the Outdoor FF Nats. Today marks the start of Unlimited Soaring.
Unseasonably cool weather and light wind made for a great day to compete in RC Soaring and Free Flight (FF) on Monday. In Soaring, RES (rudder, elevator, spoiler), Nostalgia, and Two-Meter contests took place. At the Outdoor FF Nats, there were several competitions including Payload and Moffett.
F3K HL Thermal Glider, Altitude Limited Electric Soaring (ALES), and F5J competitions concluded on Sunday, and other Soaring contests begin today. The 2018 Outdoor Free Flight Nats also start today.

Four days of competing in the 2018 RC Aerobatics (Pattern) Nats wrapped up Thursday with a banquet and awards ceremony. The members of Team USA for the 2019 world championship were also selected.
