Two contests have launched into their last day of the 2018 Outdoor Nats. Today is the final day for RC Pylon Racing and Control Line (CL) Navy Carrier. Only unofficial events are being held at CL Navy Carrier today.
Strong wind gusts made slow and fast Control Line (CL) Navy Carrier flight difficult Tuesday at the 2018 Outdoor Nats. Also Tuesday, RC Combat began, CL Combat continued, and unofficial CL Precision Aerobatics contests were held.
For the first time in a handful of years, participation in the Control Line (CL) Navy Carrier Nats is up! Monday was registration day for the 2018 contest and the competition begins today. The CL Precision Aerobatics Nats held its appearance points judging on Monday.
Calm wind and sunshine were the perfect recipe for a competitive day of flying at the 2018 Nats. Control Line (CL) Scale wrapped up its competition on Sunday with an awards ceremony. CL Combat and RC Pylon events continued as pilots battled it out for the top spots.
The temperature was comfortable on Saturday, but the wind wreaked havoc at the CL Scale and RC Pylon Nats. At the CL circle, most competitors elected to not fly a second round because of the wind. At the RC Pylon flightline, the wind made takeoffs and corners challenging.
The 2018 RC Pylon and Control Line (CL) Scale Nats continue today with Q-500 Sport and the flying portion of the CL Scale Nats. CL Combat also kicks off today with F2D Combat.
Today is the first day of the 2018 RC Pylon and Control Line (CL) Scale Nats. Today's events include Club 40 Pylon Racing and the static judging for CL Scale. The flying portion of CL Scale begins Saturday.
The 2018 RC Scale Aerobatics Nats has come to an end. There were some close races between friends, but in the end, the scores determined who took home plaques.
Great weather helped the 2018 RC Scale Aerobatics Nats contestants get in a lot of flying on Thursday. In the evening, the contestants gathered for a banquet and awards, and were able to enjoy the National Model Aviation Museum.
