The unofficial Carrier events were run today. These events are usually completed by noon, so I made plans to be somewhere else later in the day. However, Murphy raised his head and said “Not today.” I ended up leaving before everything was done, but was told that I would get all of the score sheets this evening.
The winds had changed direction overnight, but they were light. This didn’t seem to be a problem, so it was decided not to move the deck. As the day progressed, the winds increased, just enough to make landings difficult. The results for today’s events are shown in the photos. All times are in seconds.
Unofficial event day is the end of the Navy Carrier events at the AMA Nationals. The deck has been put away, awards have been given out, and goodbyes have been said. Until next year, keep your tailhook dry.
