The final day of the event began early as usual and we were all ready to put in a good day of flying.

As the competition draws down, the flying and competition is still very focused. The AMA (precision aerobatics) provided a number of classes to offer most everyone an opportunity to fly a set of maneuvers that is safely achievable.

The 2026 NSRCA Nationals ran the full range this week. It opened with rain, ran through wind, and closed on a perfect afternoon of finals. Along the way, this event decided a national champion in every class and a World Team that will carry the American flag to Korea.

The second day of competition got all of the competitors settled down into a predictable routine. CD Chris Goodin and the American Radio Control Competition Helicopter Society (ARCCHS) team worked very hard to help make the event run very smoothly.

The 100th AMA Nationals came down to one flightline Friday afternoon. All other classes finished early and made their way over to Site 1, where the crowd built for the F3A finals and the Team Trial that would decide who represents the United States at the next World Championships.

The first day of the 2026 USA Model Helicopter Nationals began bright and early Sunday morning. That was the plan until some rainy conditions pushed us out a bit.

By Saturday, August 1, most of the competition helicopter pilots had gathered in Muncie, Indiana to begin the USA Model Helicopter Championships (Nats) of 2026.

In F3A, eight pilots will advance to the finals: Andrew Jesky, Jason Shulman, Albert Glenn, Peter Collinson, Joseph Szczur, Juan Lopez, Chad Northeast, and Jonathan Mowrey.
