Nob Muraki calls for Tim DiPeri flying scale.

The second day of competition got all of the competitors settled down into a predictable routine. CD Chris Goodin and the American Radio Control Competition Helicopter Society (ARCCHS) team worked very hard to help make the event run very smoothly. There were no surprises for when we were all supposed to be on the flightline and when each new round began.
For many years, the model helicopter competitions in the USA have been judged by competitors. Most folks pulled judging duties (more than once) in a multitude of classes. The only “seated judges” were Cliff Hiatt, Gordie Meade, Dan Lucente, Nob Muraki, and Gordie Meade. We all appreciate their effort in supporting the event.
The Scale portion took a bigger stage today .These beautiful works of art are always a joy to see in person. The models are subjected to static judging and flight judging. For Static, several judges carefully inspect the model and compare it to documents provided from the pilot and determine the value of points earned.
