Indoor Free Flight

The fifth day of the AMA Indoor Nats, July 5, was the hottest outside with a high of 87° Fahrenheit. Indoors, there was more thermal activity than noted on previous days, and with the exception of Kang Lee’s ninth-round World Cup flight, the best times were posted between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

On the third day of the 2024 Indoor AMA Nats, the glider and lightweight duration events concluded. Within the article are the flight times for each respective event.

The 101st iteration of the AMA Nats kicks off on Monday, July 1, 2024, at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, Idaho. The Kibbie Dome, which is situated atop one of the gently rolling hills of the Palouse, is perhaps the most prominent landmark on the University of Idaho’s campus.

The morning kicked off with a mess of Nats trophies being awarded for the AMA events held on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The screen-printed, acrylic tabletop trophies are an elegant and unexpected change from recent Nats.
