The second day of the Nats began with the Unlimited Catapult-Launch Glider (CLG) and F1N events. Paul Polischuk established an F1N Junior record with 16.4 and 16.3, for a combined total of 32.7 seconds. The Unlimited CLG results perfectly matched the Standard CLG results from the previous day with Xiaoguo Tang in first, Don Sluscarczyk in second, and June Tang in 3rd. Don Slusarczyk was crowned the Nats Glider Grand Champion.
The afternoon’s events saw some of the closest competition in Nats history. The top four places of P18 were each one second apart, with Tom Norell coming out on top. Mini Stick was likewise hotly contested. One second separated second and third place. Rey Mazzocco came out on top with a 26-second lead.
A-6 featured a variety of contestants with Hamish Christie topping the podium. We had one AROG and three in Intermediate Stick. The HVAC system stayed off all day, allowing for a smooth contest.
In F1D Brett Sanborn put his top two flights of the competition during the hour of the second-day extension. Congratulations on winning both the Nats and the World Championships within a month of each other.
