Today was Crazy-Fast, Fast Combat. It is only for the ballsy. First place went to Bill Maywald, Chuck Rudner took second and Neil Simpson was third. These guys had some amazing matches! This was the last combat event at the Nats. We will see everyone next year.
We held 1/2A Combat today. There were some really good matches. Zero wind and hot temps made for hot combat. But the low winds allowed a full 360 degrees of airspace to use.
Monday was F2D Combat. This was a fast and furious event with 20 entries. The final came down to Dave Fischer, who took the first spot, followed by Sam Londke. Chris Gay placed third.

Saturday started off with F2D combat. It was incredibly hot! There were twenty entries, consisting of most of the finest pilots flying in the USA. We flew a triple-elimination event and had a huge amount of fun despite the heat.
Today’s event was AMA Speed Limit Combat. Twenty-five contestants flew a highly competitive event with a twist of a limited speed. Sounds easy, right? Well, detuning a combat plane to not exceed 75mph is tougher than one might think.
Today we flew the AMA Fast 2D class. It was another great day of combat! There were several really good matches, and several poor ones. There were pilots from all over the USA and we had zero altercations or complaints.
We had outstanding weather for combat in Muncie. There were lots of great matches today. Dave Edwards, Arlene Mears, Matt Brown, Jerry Sabin, Arnie Delgado, Fred Quezada, and Chris Gay all did an excellent job of officiating our combat events.
