Today’s event was AMA Speed Limit Combat. Twenty-five contestants flew a highly competitive event with a twist of a limited speed. Sounds easy, right? Well, detuning a combat plane to not exceed 75mph is tougher than one might think. We saw 15s, 25s, 32s, 36s and even 40s trying to hit the speed. From small F2D airplanes to huge 500 sq. in. wing area tankers. All in all, it was some great combat fun!

After some great battles, the championship final went to combat veteran Neil Simpson. Speed Limit is taken more serious in the north east and Neil proved that point with his excellent design Coyote combat ship. Second place went to Dave Fischer, third to Dan Kinder, fourth went to Brian Stas, and fifth went to Kurt Carlson. Great fun was had by everyone!
