Rain and low ceilings pushed the start of competition back more than two hours on Tuesday. Once the field opened up, the 2026 NSRCA Nationals got a full day of flying in.

The 2026 National Society of Radio Controlled Aerobatics (NSRCA) Nationals opened today with the kind of day that sets the tone for the whole week: airplanes coming out of vans, pilots walking the flightlines, and everyone sizing up the air before a single official point goes on the board.

A great week of competition was had by everyone. This was a very well-run Nats event, and the team that accomplished it should be very proud.

The final day of the 2024 AMA RC Precision Aerobatics (Pattern) competition didn’t disappoint. It was a well-run event with great staff supporting it. All of the finals rounds were mapped out, and all classes got their flights in between the low cloud cover and pop-up showers. It made for a long day, but everyone managed to get their flights in

If you have been following NatsNews closely, you will have noticed that there is a trend with the 2024 AMA RC Precision Aerobatics (Pattern) Nats—weather delays.

Day one of flying at AMA’s International Aeromodeling Center started off with a low ceiling that delayed the start of the competition until about 9:30 a.m.; everyone waited patiently, as this is a normal occurrence at Pattern contests. The pilots were excited to get started!

Monday hosts the official pilot check-in and the processing of all of the aircraft used in the 2024 AMA RC Precision Aerobatics (Pattern) Nats. Starting at 9 a.m., pilots have until 3 p.m. to check in and have their aircraft and batteries weighed and stickered.

As we ramp up to the 2024 AMA RC Precision Aerobatics (Pattern) Nats, it’s a great time to look ahead at the week of events, including some changes that are new to this year’s Nats.

Today was the top 20 day for the Open class and the finals day for the Advanced class. The day started out cool with a light breeze. God's curtains again obscured the big, bright lightbulb in the sky. Every once in a while, it would peek out but otherwise it was hidden. Winds stayed light throughout the morning, making for some great weather to fly in.
