After a full day of practice yesterday, the 2025 IMAC Nationals officially kicked off contest flying today, at AMA Headquarters in Muncie, Indiana. Despite a foggy and low-ceiling morning that delayed our 6:45 am pilot meeting by nearly an hour, the IMAC pilots quickly got to work and made up for lost time with impressive efficiency and focus.
Thanks to the determination and readiness of the 48 pilots representing all U.S. regions (and even international competition from IMAC vice president, Adi Kochav, of Israel), we were able to complete a full slate of flights. Three known rounds and one unknown round were successfully flown under hot and humid summer skies.

One standout addition to this year’s Nationals is the eye-catching custom canopy plane covers, which you’ll see prominently displayed in today’s photos. A big thank you to Adi Kochav for designing and providing these beautifully crafted covers. Each competitor received one as a gift for attending this year’s event—a practical and stylish way to shield these precision aerobatic machines from the sun between flights.

Looking ahead to July 30th, we plan to start the day with another unknown round, followed by up to three more known rounds, weather permitting. Forecasts call for more heat and humidity. If today is any indication, these dedicated pilots are more than up to the task.
