Expert pilot and world F3C judge, Gordie Meade, in his first scale competition.
By Tim DiPeri
Today began with a gloomy gray sky and ended with sunshine after a very short downpour around mid-day. Again, we were able to get three rounds of AMA/FAI competition, as well as one round of Scale flying and the static portion of the judging.
About halfway through the day, the finals (F3C and F3N) began yielding the potential for higher weighted points and a different schedule of maneuvers (F3C). For F3N, the final round of the “preliminary” flight was a freestyle flight to music. This exciting routine was certainly something not to miss.

The Sportsman class pilots, again, showed great skills. Expert class pilots really battled it out today.
On Tuesday, July 8th, we look forward to another great day of flying. With good processing of the pilots, and a little gentle pushing from the EC, and no rain, we may be completed Tuesday afternoon.
