Nick Maxwell discussing the freestyle maneuvers for F3N competition.

Most of the competitors arrived bright and early (8:00am) for our pilots meeting by the Event Director (ED), Chris Goodin, for the AMA and FAI classes. Scale helicopters, due to slight miscommunication, will have its official pilots meeting on Monday morning.
In order to get in front of potentially poor weather on Monday, the ED decided to run a full three rounds on Sunday. While this is a little taxing (most pilots also serve as judges), it was well supported by all, rather than risking an absolute requirement of a Thursday rain day.
Our fearless leader and ED, Chris Goodin, catching a little rest between rounds.

In addition to the USA world team and team managers (Tom Dooley and Brian Byrdsong) doing triple duty of preparing the team during the week, and for the world championships next month, we had a number of new F3C competitors and F3N competitors, as well as new pilots moving to Expert class. All in all, the level of flying in all competitors shows great improvements.
