The 2024 IMAC Nats is a wrap! The author and Primo Rivera are pictured jumping with excitement.

The final day of the AMA RC Scale Aerobatic (International Miniature Aerobatic Club [IMAC]) Nats in Muncie, Indiana, dawned gorgeous, with low winds and plenty of sunshine. The flightline was quiet in the morning as pilots focused on their Unknowns, which carry the most weight in scoring. We flew two different Unknowns and even squeezed in another round of Freestyle.
Spectators were in for a treat with a special afternoon show featuring a tandem flight and mass hover by Johnny Gago, Kevin Garland, Kody Donath, and Misael Lopez. “Wow” is all I can say! Keep an eye on the IMAC Facebook page (link is external) for the video.
Then came the moment that everyone was waiting for—awards time. Peter Bresciani won Sportsman, Kody took first place in Intermediate and won the Schroder Cup, and newbie Misael claimed the top spot in Advanced. Kurt Koeling walked away with first place in Unlimited and the Bennet Cup, while Kevin scooped up first place in Freestyle.
Congratulations to all of the competitors, and a heartfelt thank-you goes to all of the volunteers and the IMAC Planning Committee. This Nats was a remarkable event filled with camaraderie and fierce competition. It’s these dedicated volunteers who make the magic happen, and their efforts are truly appreciated.
As we wrap up this incredible week, there’s a sense of nostalgia and anticipation for next year. The highs, lows, and relentless pursuit of perfection make the IMAC Nats an event that you won't want to miss. See you on the flightline next year!
