Celebrating a Century in the Clouds: The Nats Centennial Shirt Series
For one hundred years, the sky has been a stage for innovation, competition, and the pure joy of flight. As we approach the 2026 National Aeromodeling Championships (Nats), we are marking a monumental milestone: the 100th running of this historic event.
To celebrate this "Centennial Era," we are proud to introduce a special commemorative shirt series. Each design captures a pivotal moment in our history, from our earliest roots to the legendary eras that defined the sport.
The Designs
1. 1923: The Birth of a Legacy Step back to where it all began. In 1923, St. Louis, Missouri, played host to the very first national competition. This shirt features the vintage "Air Races" aesthetic, honoring the pioneers who first gathered to prove what model aircraft could do. It’s a tribute to the foundation of everything we fly today.
2. 1946: The Victory Nats After a brief hiatus during World War II, modelers were eager to return to the flying field. The 1946 championships in Wichita, Kansas, became known as the Victory Nats. This design celebrates the triumphant "Return After WWII," capturing the spirit of a community reuniting to look toward a bright, peaceful horizon.
3. 1948–1972: The Navy Nats Era For nearly a quarter-century, the Nats found a home at various Naval Air Stations across the country. The Navy Nats era represents a unique chapter of collaboration and high-performance competition. This bold typography design honors the decades spent on those historic runways.
