The tent is down!
By Ola Nordell, assisted by Leo Nordell
Today, July 10, saw AMA 426 Quickie Racing canceled due to stormy weather. AMA 426 was supposed to be a two-day show, held July 9-10. Due to today’s cancellation, the results from July 9 will stand.
The following was said to the 77 AMA 426 participants by the event’s contest director, Doug Killebrew:
“High winds, rain, and a collapsed tent, along with pop-up land destroyed, has led to the cancellation of today’s competition. Unfortunately, the event will end after 80 heats (four rounds) completed. The big tent will be set up again tomorrow [July 11] by 7:30, so we can reassemble and prepare to race Q40. [AMA] 426 trophies will be passed out tomorrow with Q40. I’m very sorry the weather didn’t allow us more racing today.”
Later in the evening, the tent was put back up! On July 11, the pilot meeting will occur at 7:30 a.m., and the race will start at 8 a.m.
Below are the final scores for AMA 426, ordered by point value after completing four rounds.
